Booking & Payments

Effective November 7, 2026 4 min read Homeopathic Healing Inc. (Materia+)

The short version

  • When you book, your agreement is with your provider, not with Materia+.
  • You pay your provider's price. Payments go through Square or Stripe, whichever your provider uses, straight to your provider's own account.
  • Materia+ doesn't charge a booking fee or take a commission.
  • Each provider sets their own cancellation and refund policy. Refund requests go to your provider.
  • You get an invoice and receipt for each visit, which you can use to claim from your insurer. Materia+ doesn't submit claims for you.
  • Prices may be in a different currency from your card. Your bank sets any conversion fee.

1.Who you're booking with

Your agreement is with your provider.

Materia+ is a software platform and a directory. When you book a visit, your agreement for that service is between you and the provider. Materia+ isn't a party to it and doesn't provide the service.

2.How payment works

You pay your provider directly, through Square or Stripe.

You pay the price your provider lists for the service. Card payments are processed by Square or Stripe, depending on which one your provider has connected, and go to the provider's own Square or Stripe account. Materia+ doesn't charge patients a booking fee, take a commission on visits, or hold your money.

Your card details go straight to Square or Stripe. Materia+ never sees or stores your full card number. Square or Stripe handles payment security, and its own privacy policy applies to what it handles.

Some providers also accept payment in other ways, such as cash or bank transfer. Those arrangements are between you and the provider, outside Materia+.

3.Prices and currency

Your bank may charge a conversion fee.

Providers set their own prices in their own currency (Canadian dollars, US dollars, pounds sterling or euros). If your card is in a different currency, your bank or card issuer converts the amount and may charge a fee. To the extent the law allows, Materia+ isn't responsible for exchange rates or conversion fees.

4.Cancellations, no-shows and refunds

Your provider's policy applies.

Each provider sets their own cancellation, no-show and refund policy. You see it before you book. To cancel, reschedule or ask for a refund, use the booking tools on Materia+ or contact your provider. The provider decides on refunds under their policy and the law.

Your provider may cancel or reschedule a visit, for example if they aren't allowed to see clients where you are.

5.Receipts and insurance

Use your invoice to claim. Materia+ doesn't submit claims for you.

You get an invoice and a receipt for each visit you pay for. You can use them to submit your own insurance claim. Materia+ isn't a billing clearinghouse. It doesn't submit, process or handle public or private insurance claims or insurance codes for you. Whether your insurer accepts a claim is between you and your insurer. If your insurer needs details that aren't on your invoice, ask your provider.

6.Booking for someone else

Parents, guardians and caregivers can book for someone they care for.

A parent or legal guardian can book for a child or other dependent if they have the legal authority to consent to that care. A caregiver can book for a patient if the patient has given them access. The person who books is responsible for the booking and for passing on information about it. A provider can also book a visit for you, for example after you've spoken by phone.

7.Problems with a visit or a payment

Contact your provider first.

If you have a problem with a service, a charge or a refund, contact your provider first. To the extent the law allows, Materia+ isn't responsible for disputes between you and a provider about services, payments, non-payment or refunds, or for card fraud. Please also tell us at support@materiaplus.com about any provider conduct that breaks our standards.
