Community Standards (Patients)

Updated over 3 months ago

Materia+ is dedicated to empowering patients who choose natural healthcare. Our unwavering commitment to this mission shapes the way we design our platform, deliver our services, and structure our business.

We expect all Materia+ users to show respect towards our service, the participating providers, patients seeking care, and the authors contributing to our publication. To ensure this respect, the following guidelines outline our expectations for user behavior. As noted in our Terms of Service, any violations of these guidelines may lead to suspension or termination from Materia+.

Respect & Safety

  • Always treat others with respect and abide by all relevant laws.
  • Do not engage in bullying, harassment, profanity, threats, intimidation, or any actions that may harm providers, their office staff and administrators, or representatives of Materia+.
  • Avoid any form of discrimination or the use of inappropriate, derogatory, disparaging, or racist/bigoted language towards providers, their office staff and administrators, or Materia+ representatives.

Accuracy

  • Always provide accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date information, including when filling out intake forms from your provider.
  • Only schedule appointments that you intend to attend in order to respect the time of both the provider and other patients seeking care.
  • Submit honest, fair, and accurate reviews that comply with our guidelines.

Materia+ User Obligations

  • Strive to honor your confirmed appointments, as these time slots are reserved and unavailable for other patients seeking care.
  • If your plans change and you cannot attend your appointment, it is your responsibility to inform your provider with as much notice as possible. Last-minute changes can significantly disrupt providers and their staff, limiting their capacity to see other patients who require care.
  • If you frequently miss appointments, reschedule, or cancel, we reserve the right to limit or discontinue your access to Materia+ services.
  • Arrive on time for your appointments. If you are unable to do so, contact the provider’s office to inform them, keeping in mind that they may need to reschedule your appointment.
  • If Materia+ or a participating provider believes that a patient is exhibiting unlawful or disruptive behavior, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate that user's access to Materia+ services.
